CARING FOR YOUR YOGA MAT

CLASSIC, PREMIER, AMPIO™, CLASSIC LITE TRAVEL & PREMIER LITE YOGA MATS

All Ruth White Yoga Mats are machine washable at a low temperature (no more than 30°C) using a very small amount of washing detergent (no fabric softener) or you can wipe them down with a damp cloth. NEVER SPIN and DO NOT tumble dry or put your Yoga Mat on a radiator to dry off. Allow lots of time to air dry and avoid folding or using your mat until it is completely dry, as this may shorten its life. You may not be able to fit Extra Long Yoga Mats in your washing machine, so these Yoga Mats will need to be sponged down instead.

LEELA, LUMO and ASANA YOGA MATS

To clean, simply wipe with a damp cloth or sponge and air dry. You can also use a Mat Refresh Deodorising Spray to help freshen up the smell of your Yoga Mat and neutralise any odors.

PU-COATED YOGA MATS

Wipe to clean. The PU coating should be cleaned only with cleaning agents containing no alcohol. We recommend after particularly sweaty practice to wipe the mat down with warm, soapy water. Please use only a very small amount of detergent and wipe down again with clear water to avoid leaving any soapy residue on the mat. Please roll the mat together only when it is completely dry (to avoid spots on the mat).

TPE YOGA MATS

Hand wash in machine, max. 30°C with little detergent (no fabric softener), or simply wipe with a damp cloth and dry well, but NEVER spin or put it in the tumble dryer and DO NOT put in direct sunlight as this will breakdown the Yoga Mat.

RUBBER YOGA MATS

Wipe with a damp cloth to clean, DO NOT tumble dry and DO NOT put in direct sunlight as this will breakdown the Yoga Mat.

GRIP TOWEL

Washable at max. 30°, wash separately as colours may run. Use only a small amount of detergent (approx. 1/3 the usual amount). NO bleach and NO fabric softener (reduces the absorbency). Do not spin dry or put them in the tumble dryer.

DEODORISING SPRAY

Another option to freshen up your Yoga Mat is to use a Mat Refresh Deodorising Spray . We sell two sizes (50ml and 500ml sized bottles) and these will help clean and refresh your yoga mat with eucalyptus, rosemary, witch hazel and mint. They can also be used as a deodorant for the body or as a room spray to neutralise odours. You should avoid contact with the eyes and DO NOT USE on Open Cell Yoga Mats, TPE Yoga Mats and Natural Rubber Yoga Mats.
