Please note: with a lot of sweat or humidity the non-slip properties of the mat can be reduced because the mat does not absorb moisture as it is a closed-cell yoga mat and a film of sweat can lead to less grip on the mat. The longer these mats are used the better the grip once the initial manufacturing coating wears off..

This mat has a mesh strengthening layer running through it, which helps reduce curling at the ends and increases its durability. We have teachers who have these mats which are over 20 years old and use them on a regular basis.

Our Oeko-Tex Ruth White Yoga Mats are made in accordance with strict environmental regulations (see below) . Yoga Mat material base fabric: 79% Cotton, 21% PES Yoga Mat Coating: PVC Conforms to Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Product Class II.

You might want to consider when selecting a size things like having extra room for you lying down with your arms above your head - do you like your arms being on a cold floor or do you want them on the mat as well? Also consider how far your legs can stretch in some leg stretching asanas or if you do sequences that involve more travel along the Yoga Mat from one pose into another? You should also take into account how much extra room you actually like above you head and below your feet - it's a personal choice.

At first you may find that the mat is a little slippery. This is due to the manufacturer's surface 'finish' on all mats. It soon wears off. You may want to wash your mat to speed up the process to wear your mat in. See bottom menu for downloading a detailed guide for wearing in your yoga mat.

It is certified by the manufacturer to ÖKO-TEX STANDARD 100 Appendix 4, product class I, which means the goods meet the human-ecological requirements of STANDARD 100 by ÖKO-TEX presently established in Appendix 4 for baby articles. This makes it safer for babies, young children and people who may suffer allergic reactions.

This mat is Latex Free during manufacture. However, it may be stored in an area near to where rubber yoga mats are also stored
